FRIENDS supporters say thank you Ian!
Over 32 years, our founder and spokesperson, Ian Morrison has built Friends of Canadian Broadcasting into a potent grassroots force that is leading the fight to protect Canada’s cultural sovereignty and the hard-hitting, independent journalism that secures our democracy. Under Ian’s skilled leadership, FRIENDS has grown from a small group of concerned Canadians into a national movement of 364,000 people who care about this country and want to defend our independence and culture.
FRIENDS’ supporters have responded to the announcement in February of FRIENDS’ leadership transition with an outpouring of thanks to Ian Morrison.
Here is a small sample of the many messages we received from grateful supporters:
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your 30+ years of leadership, dedication and effort on behalf of CBC listeners, viewers and the nation at large - what a commitment!
– Ann and Hugh Porter
I was taken with the thrust of Friends when I heard about it [and] I felt the need to join in and comment. I actually got a reply from “our dear Leader”, Ian Morrison! Now THAT, I was totally impressed with…I was in for life!

You have been exemplary!
– Philip Williams
I am so pleased to hear that you will continue to work with the Board. We are lucky to have you working to maintain our commercial-free radio. Some days I feel like CBC is the blood of our country, and I am always appreciative of the leadership you have provided for so many years to help to keep it strong.
– Lisa Hammett Vaughan, Wolfville, Nova Scotia
