Elizabeth May talks CBC during Friends’ Leaders Series

Ottawa – Friends of Canadian Broadcasting’ Leaders Series about the CBC continues with the webcast of interviews with Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada.

The May interviews – 30 minutes in English followed by 30 minutes in French -- will take place back-to-back starting at 5:00 pm EST on Sunday, March 1st.

“Friends has invited the leaders of the federal parties with seats in the House of Commons to participate in the Leaders Series about the CBC.  It will be an opportunity to convey to Friends’ supporters and all Canadians their vision for the CBC in advance of the next election,” said Ian Morrison, spokesperson for Friends.

Francine Pelletier, veteran journalist and former co-host of the CBC’s flagship public affairs program the fifth estate, will conduct the interviews in French.

Don Newman, former host of Politics, CTV’s Washington correspondent, and CBC TV’s senior parliamentary correspondent, will conduct the interviews in English.

The interviews will be webcast at www.friends.ca/live.

Details of future Leaders Series about the CBC interviews will be released as they become available.
