Overview
COMPAS polled 1,000 Canadians to gauge public confidence in the broadcasting system and support for the CRTC. Major findings include:
- The public continues to have more confidence in program producers than in satellite or cable companies
- Canadians are divided between a general concern over media convergence and the need for Canadian companies to be internationally competitive
- Convergence in cable companies, specifically, is seen as a concern
- Canadians would prefer improved quality of existing programs rather than a greater variety of programming
