The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission yesterday unveiled a new structure, which it said is aimed at better meeting the goals of the Broadcasting and Telecommunications Acts. Policy and operations for broadcasting and telecom will be largely combined into one group. A new section will also be formed responsible for the CRTC's regulatory process management and monitoring. "This reorganization will place us in a better position to respond to the realities with which the industries we regulate are grappling, as a result of massive and rapid technological change and the blurring of traditional boundaries and lines of business," the CRTC said.
