Rogers Media president Keith Pelley has rewarded Scott Moore for the broadcaster’s recent blockbuster rights deal with the NHL.
Moore on Thursday was promoted to president of Sportsnet and NHL, effective immediately.
And Moore in turn named Bart Yabsley as SVP of NHL and video distribution at Rogers Media.
Moore will now oversee two major sport portfolios at the Rogers Communications media unit, as he looks to leverage the group’s cable, wireless and media assets to make money on the 12 year, $5.2 billion deal.
“Scott and I have a longstanding history together in sports television. Having worked in all facets of the business, he understands the passionate and personal connection fans have to sports and their teams,” said Pelley in a statement Thursday.
