KITCHENER – The new CBC Radio station serving Waterloo Region will take to the airwaves March 11.
Based at 117 King St. W. near Kitchener City Hall, the station will broadcast a local weekday morning show starting at 6 a.m., hosted by Craig Norris.
The radio station — 89.1 FM — will be complemented by a digital service offering local news, weather, community information and commentary.
The service expansion is part of CBC’s five-year strategic plan which has the goal of better connecting Canadians in areas identified as underserviced. CBC recently launched a digital service in Hamilton.
