The Writers Guild of Canada says Canadians are losing out in the fight between cable and broadcasters.

The CBC should get out of the All-News channel business altogether and just concentrate on Canadian arts and entertainment ... with only nominal newscasts at 8AM, Noon, 6PM and 10PM .. and get rid of all that costly and politically biased CBC News Network and all it's worldwide correspondents costing the Canadian taxpayer a mint. Canadians don't watch the CBC so it must be completely rationalized if subsidies are to be justified in these times.
I'll say we need more Cdn content. We can't even get good, thorough news coverage - while there IS time, on stations like Global, for lots of US infotainment stories, often resulting in anchor chit chat. It's so much more interesting apparently, than the Basi Virk case, or whether a political party has made false claims and is or isn't being held to accountable. You know, boring ol' stuff like that can't compare to Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction, or the latest Hollywood movie.
It is a shame, truly, a national disgrace.
