CBC Smackdown Press Conference

Nov 29, 2011

Media event to launch STOP THE CBC SMACKDOWN, a campaign in defence of our national public broadcaster and to release the results of a new opinion survey concerning Canadians' attitudes toward the CBC.

CBC is always on at home and in the car - AM and FM. I am always amazed at the high quality of commentary and news analysis on CBC. I consider CBC to be a major factor in fostering national unity and national pride. Programming on CBC is far more intelligent and thought-provoking than any other broadcasting offerings.

The radio in our home is constantly tuned to CBC in Toronto. We not only are dedicated to CBC for excellent news coverage, both local and National but for world wide news coverage as well! It is also delivered in a tone of non-biased reporting. A cut in funding will surely be a deterrent to getting a national view of Canadian news, sports, stories, and Canadian humour! WE MUST PRESERVE OUR CANADIAN HERITAGE!! Donna & Fraser Robin

CBC is vital to the important role of connecting Canadians to Canadians and reinforcing our love of country and appreciation of its ever expanding multi-cultural nature as the glue that binds Canadians of all kinds.
