Using our Website

How to use FRIENDS' website for research:

Learn more about the history and mission of FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting in our About Us section - which includes recent annual reports, goals and priorities and biographies of our Steering Committee members.

Much of FRIENDS' work is captured in submissions, letters and briefs to Government Ministers and Departments and the CRTC. All such documents are stored in our Resource Centre - along with survey research commissioned by Friends, and archived advertising campaigns and original research on the audio-visual system.

Additionally, in our News Room find key Statistics and Trends on Canadian content and programming and detailed facts on Canadian radio. In our Fact Sheet section find analysis on the public submissions of CBC and other Canadian Broadcasters.

For many years, FRIENDS has captured and stored media coverage of events and news pertaining to the broadcasting system, media ownership and cultural policies. These holdings are searchable. Go to Media Monitor to access our search engine.

As you would expect, our Newsroom gives you ready access to press releases, policy papers, fact sheets and ways and means to contact our spokespeople.

From time to time, FRIENDS initiates campaigns in support of our goals. To learn more about these campaigns, please visit our Take Action page.
